About Me:

My name is Yolanda Laracuente and I would like to welcome you to my little corner of Etsy. All of my creations are very special to me and I put a lot of love and passion into my work. My hope is that my art will open the door to your imagination and take you to a magical place that will touch you with my passion for life.

My faith in God is very strong and I truly believe that all of my artistic ability comes from His grace. He blesses me each and every day by giving me the ability to use the talents he gives me so I may share with others what comes from my mind, heart, hands and soul.

I have lived in the United States for over 30 years now and am originally from Puerto Rico. My history as an artist goes back many years. My sister gave me a ceramics business when I was only 17 years old. As my ceramic artistic ability blossomed -- so did my need to share it with others. So I did my own advertising on a Spanish radio station and began to teach others what I knew and loved about ceramics.

I wanted to try my hand at other forms of media and I am proud to say I learned to oil paint water and pastel colors from a wonderful artist I found in Southern California named Marge Yaros (Yaros Art Gallery). But my passion for art did not stop there. When I started making one of a kind polymer clay dolls and dollhouses in porcelain I had finally found my true passion for art! Sadly, in 2004 when I developed diabetes, my health was deteriorating and I was unable to continue doing what I loved. However, in December 2006 God blessed me when He made me well enough to begin making my dolls again.

My husband Miguel is my mentor and he inspires my work with the most romantic Fairy Tales you could ever imagine. He is the love of my life and his poems and wonderful stories inspire me to make my fantasy creations so that I may share them with others.

I have lot of them but to mention some I like Lauren Mills and Dennis Nolan.

I would be impossible for me to name all of the artists whose work I admire. However, my friends Aidamaries from "Goddess Dreams" and Julie from "Faerielady".
