Hi Everyone,
I am excited to report that my work has been chosen as one of the October 2009 'World of Froud' Artists of the Month.
The Frouds are renowned faerie artists that have worked on several projects within the entertainment industry. This includes, but is not limited to, movies, television series, commercials and other forms of advertisement. The most well-known projects were with Muppet creator Jim Henson.
Collectively the Frouds worked for the Henson company for several years as pup…

Old Ms. Slaugh walked ahead of the young students and their teacher, Findlay Milne. She was not Findlay’s usual guide but was available on short notice. She suggested they hike to Stourie Castle. In the cold rain they trudged, eventually reaching its enormous doors. It was gray, cheerless and disappointing to all except Ms. Slaugh.
“There’s something particular,” she said, “you must see.” She gestured for them to enter through a dark passageway leading to a bright room ahead. They vanished one…

Two weeks ago I had the most fun helping the local library with a project for their children's room. I painted a 20ft mural that was part of a float for a parade. The children's room was trying to raise awareness about their services particularly their storytime. It felt really great being a part of it! If you live in Ipswich, MA and you have children please check them out.

A few weeks ago I partipated in a contest that the Diamonds and Toads blogspot was offering. The challenge: to rewrite the classic fairytale 'Sleeping Beauty'. I spent a couple of weeks toiling over the story. I was nervous and unsure of myself. It had been a while since I'd written anything. Even though I didn't win, I loved the experience and my story "A Gift Returned' is listed with other finalists on Diamonds and Toads. Writing and art seem to go hand in hand, they certainly feed into eachot…

We started selling on etsy about two months ago, and so far had not sold a single mermaid. Judy was getting really upset, since those are her special babies. A couple of days ago, she got up and announced that since nobody wanted them, she wasn't going to make anymore. About an hour later, a lady came into the etsy shop and bought eight of them EIGHT!, in fact, everyone of the traditional merfolk. Never say never. So Judy had to hurry and finish up some of her partly done mermaids. I also made u…

We actually joined Faeetsy a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't stumble across this part of it until yesterday. I've just been so focussed on sewing and on the etsy shop that I haven't spent much time looking around. Guess it pays to get the flu and spend the whole day playing on the computer. Anyway, I'm glad to finally be here and really glad to be part of FaeEtsy. I'm continually amazed at the incredible talent in this group.
Anyway, as for our shop, it's constantly evolving. Judy has been exp…

A friend of mine bought me a domain name and I finally decided to go ahead and make use of it!!
After careful consideration and trying to decide if it should be just a toplist or a site, I figured mermaid artists could use an extra boost in this economy (who couldn't? lol) and decided to make it a fun site dedicated to original and unique mermaid art and the artists that create it and the collectors that love it.
Anyway, if interested, please go take a peek - I think it's rather fun and cut…
